An Adaptive Dynamical Model of Linguistic Rhythm

Sean McLennan

Dissertation Work - Indiana University

My proposed dissertation research which seeks to bridge two areas of research in linguistic rhythm -- work by Ramus and his colleagues on signal correlates of rhythm categories, and work Cutler and her colleagues on word segmentation based on rhythm. This will hopefully be accomplished through a model that uses the former's factors to produce behavior indicative of the latter's reported phenomena.
